Position Title

Business Analyst Network Patching

Role Overview

The Business Analyst Network Patching is responsible for analyzing coordinating and driving network patching activities across enterprise environments This role acts as a bridge between technical networksecurity teams and business stakeholders to ensure timely compliant and riskaligned patch deployment The analyst will support patch lifecycle planning reporting change management coordination and continuous process improvement

Key Responsibilities

1 Patching Planning Coordination

Collaborate with network engineering security and infrastructure teams to gather patch requirements and identify impacted assets

Assist in creating patch deployment schedules in alignment with maintenance windows and business constraints

Ensure prerequisites dependencies and test plans are clearly understood and documented

2 Requirement Analysis Documentation

Translate security advisories vulnerability assessments and vendor patch notes into actionable business and technical requirements

Maintain detailed documentation such as patch calendars runbooks impact assessments and change tickets ITIL framework preferred

Support creation of user stories and acceptance criteria for patchingrelated initiatives

3 Change Risk Management

Work with Change Advisory Board CAB to ensure patch changes are logged approved and tracked

Assess potential risks associated with patch deployments and recommend mitigation strategies

Monitor compliance against internal controls security policies and regulatory standards

4 Reporting Analytics

Develop dashboards and reports on patch compliance SLA adherence and vulnerability remediation progress

Identify bottlenecks and recurring issues using datadriven insights

Present patching performance metrics to leadership and stakeholders

5 Stakeholder Communication

Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business units regarding patching activities

Communicate planned outages risks timelines and postpatch updates clearly and proactively

Facilitate meetings workshops and status reviews

6 Continuous Improvement

Evaluate existing patching processes and propose improvements to reduce downtime and increase automation

Support implementation of new patch management tools scripts and monitoring mechanisms

Contribute to knowledge base and best practice guidelines

Required Skills Qualifications

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of network infrastructure routers switches firewalls load balancers

Familiarity with network OS patching Cisco IOSIOSXENXOS Fortinet Palo Alto Juniper etc

Experience with patch management tools SolarWinds WSUS SCCM Tanium Ansible etc

Basic knowledge of vulnerability management frameworks CVSS NIST

Comfortable interpreting vendor patch advisories and security bulletins

Business Analytical Skills

Strong analytical and requirementgathering capabilities

Experience writing BRDs FRDs process maps root cause analyses and reports

Understanding of ITIL processes Incident Problem Change

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Strong documentation and presentation ability

Ability to work under pressure during maintenance and deployment windows

Detailoriented with strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT Engineering or related field

ITIL Foundation Certification preferred

Certifications in networkingsecurity CCNACCNP CompTIA Network Security

Experience working in large enterprise or global environments

Exposure to automation frameworks for network or patch management
