POSITION TITLE: Bashas Mechanic

Job Description

The Fleet Reefer Mechanic is responsible for the efficient repair and maintenance ofall Thermo King and Carrier TRU equipment that allows the transportationdepartment to deliver the products needed to maintain the inventory of our manyBashas supermarkets. This position is a full time day shift with a fixed schedule fromWednesday through Saturday. Sometimes extra hours are required as work andbusiness needs dictate.

Some Job Responsibilities include:

Diagnosing and repairing Thermo King single temp and Carrier Vector electric units

Diligently performing all work in a manner that contributes to the best financialinterest of Bashas

Performing preventative maintenance on TRU equipment

Making quick repairs for drivers requesting work on their TRU units to becompleted prior to starting off on scheduled deliveries to stores

Inputting all repairs completed and parts used into RTA fleet management systemsoftware

Meeting and/or exceeding all established Federal Motor Carrier SafetyAdministration State local and company regulationspolicies and procedures

Performs other duties as needed or assigned by management

Job Requirements

- EPA section 608 Technician Certification

- Three years of experience in all phases of the repair and maintenance with ThermoKing and or Carrier TRUs

- Experience and understanding of high voltage maintenance and troubleshooting

- All Bashas mechanics are required to provide their own tools

Ability to:

Consistently demonstrate a mechanical aptitude towards the maintenance andrepair of Thermo King and Carrier TRUs

Pass a drug and background screen as well as a DOT physical

With all shop team members and drivers remain helpful tactful and courteous atall times

Work energetically and independently to accomplish tasks and to meet goals andobjectives with little oversight by shop supervision

Work in an environment that includes: petroleum liquids and fumes loud noisesdust and fluctuating temperatures

Communicate well with team members and supervisors including the ability toexplain problems and communicate solutions to those problems

Listen well taking the time to use the information presented by others to help resolve work problems and issues

Problem solve analytically using deductive reasoning to resolve problems and challenges

Lift and maneuver at least 75 pounds

Use hands and digits to repair machinery

Read instruction manuals schematics databases and company reports

Use computers keyboards and computer software to run reports and input work completed and supplies used
