Departmental Analyst 9-P11 - Continuous Improvement Analyst
This position functions as a Continuous Improvement Analyst in the MDHHS. The primary responsibilities of the analyst are to analyze program areas within the department to maximize efficiencies and performance. The analyst will develop and recommend process improvements through conducting and facilitating process improvement workshops. Additionally the analyst will analyze and utilize measure and metrics to monitor trends make data-driven decisions on behalf of the department.

Departmental Analyst 12 - Senior Continuous Improvement Analyst
This position functions as a Senior Continuous Improvement Analyst in the MDHHS. The primary responsibilities of the analyst are to analyze program areas within the department to maximize efficiencies and performance. The analyst will develop and recommend process improvements through conducting and facilitating process improvement workshops. Additionally the analyst will analyze and utilize measure and metrics to monitor trends make data-driven decisions on behalf of the department.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelors degree in any major.

Experience
Departmental Analyst 9 -No specific type or amount is required.
Departmental Analyst 10 -One year of professionalexperience.
Departmental Analyst P11 -Two years of professional experience including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
Departmental Analyst 12 -Three years of professional experience including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.

At the 12-level Certified Facilitator in the State of Michigans Continuous Improvement Methodology.

Alternate Education and Experience

Departmental Analyst 9 - 12 - Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

Position Location/Remote Office:The physical location of this position is South Grand - 333 S. Grand Ave. Lansing MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense including:

  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Suitable lighting furniture and utilities.
As a Condition of Employment: this position requires successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal records check.
