Job Summary
Chicago Hybrid
An AmLaw-recognized law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice in Chicago.
This role is well-suited for an associate with commercial bankruptcy experience who is interested in sophisticated restructuring matters including both in-court and out-of-court proceedings and working closely with partners on complex high-stakes matters.
The Role
The associate will represent a range of stakeholders including debtors official committees acquirers and significant creditors in bankruptcy and restructuring matters nationwide. The work includes Chapter 11 cases out-of-court restructurings and bankruptcy litigation involving fraudulent transfer and preference actions. The practice offers meaningful responsibility substantive legal work and exposure to complex financial restructurings.
Ideal Background
25 years of commercial bankruptcy or restructuring experience
Experience with Chapter 11 proceedings and related bankruptcy litigation
Exposure to representing debtors creditors committees or acquirers
Bankruptcy clerkship experience preferred
Strong academic credentials and excellent research and writing skills
Comfortable managing matters with increasing autonomy
Admitted in Illinois or eligible to waive in
