Job Description:
Registered Nurse: Chemo Infusion Clinic at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. This position also may cover navigator position as needed.
20 hours variable schedule of Monday through Friday 8 hour shifts in-person position
- The Anna Jaques Hospital Registered Nurse is an active participant in the health care team who provides direct and indirect care to patients/ families/ significant others utilizing the components of the nursing process in accordance with the philosophy objectives value and mission behaviors of the of the patient care division.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude professional demeanor compassionate care and active listening skills.
- Treats all with dignity courtesy and respect while working as a committed member of the healthcare team.
- Actively participates in departmental staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintains current licensure and certifications as per job description and keeps current on assigned education and training tasks.
- Utilizes critical thinking skills and the teaching of evidence based practice.
- Follows Hand-Off Communication policy as appropriate.
- Practices within the scope and service outlined in the Nurse Practice Act.
- Utilizes Standard Universal Precautions.
- Advocates for patients and families to ensure positive patient care outcomes.
- Documents in a timely and accurate manner.
- Documents all changes as well as relevant information regarding patients response to intervention therapeutic regimens and patient progress as it relates to plan of care and patients response to teaching.
- Ensures that patients pain is well controlled.
- Responds to patient needs in a timely manner including answering call lights.
- Communicates effectively with patients families peers and other members of the healthcare team.
- Includes patient family and care-givers in all aspects of care white ensuring that all explanations are understandable.
- Completes admission and on-going assessments based on patient needs within appropriate time frame.
- Identifies patients individual needs problems issues concerns and considers chronological and developmental levels.
- Develops an individualized nursing plan of care based on initial and on-going data collection.
- Ensures that the plan establishes realistic and attainable health goals with patient and family including educational and discharge needs.
- Provides resources to assist patients and families with post-discharge needs.
- Demonstrates clinical competency and follows standards of care policies and procedures.
- Interprets properly and implements physicians orders.
- Implements patient education and discharge teaching appropriately utilizing teach back process
- Evaluates patient outcomes as a basis for modification.
- Ensures that plan is based and modified on the provision of competent quality care.
- Continually insures patient safety by compliance with but not limited tot hospital policies and procedures the Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals and Universal protocol.
- Provides a safe secure professional environment while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Provides appropriate guidance and support to team members while acting as a resource or preceptor to new staff.
- Delegates tasks in compliance with scope of practice and hospital job descriptions.
- As part of charge nurse responsibilities ensures that assignment considers acuity patient flow and experience and expertise of staff.
- Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Maintains BLS.
- Maintains ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card.
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred
Pay Range:
$35.85 - $77.82This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms ofthe applicable collective bargainingagreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
