Provide hands-on technical support for the assembly wiring plumbing and testing of OSCABEs methane recovery and measurement systems. This role works under the supervision of engineers and ensures prototypes and pilot rigs are built to specification ready for commissioning and field deployment and have operational support.
Accurate assembly of mechanical electrical and plumbing components following CAD drawings and wiring diagrams.
Reliable wiring and terminations for sensors controllers and actuators tested for continuity and safety.
Leak-tight plumbing for water and gas systems ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Functional prototypes prepared for lab and pilot-scale testing meeting quality and safety requirements.
Field-ready systems installed and commissioned under engineer guidance.
Assembly & Wiring:
Build panels connect sensors actuators and controllers; route cables neatly and securely.
Plumbing:
Install and test water and gas lines fittings and valves for experimental rigs and pilot systems.
Testing:
Perform continuity checks leak tests and assist in troubleshooting under supervision.
Mechanical Fitting:
Assemble frames mounts and enclosures; operate workshop tools and assist with 3D-printed parts.
Documentation:
Record assembly steps test results and update checklists.
Field Support:
Travel to pilot sites for installation and commissioning activities; assist engineers during setup and validation.
Safety Compliance:
Follow OSCABEs safety protocols for electrical mechanical and plumbing work.
Practical experience in electrical wiring mechanical assembly and plumbing for water and gas systems.
Ability to read and follow CAD drawings and wiring diagrams (Autodesk Inventor/Fusion and Visio familiarity desirable).
Competence with basic electrical testing tools (multimeter signal calibrator).
Hands-on skills with workshop tools and 3D-printed component handling.
Proficiency with Windows OS for opening drawings and using Microsoft tools (Teams Outlook Excel).
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under supervision.
Experience supporting control systems and sensor integration.
Familiarity with Arduino or similar DAQ (basic programming exposure helpful).
Previous work in process or experimental rigs for water wastewater or environmental systems.
Electrical / Mechanical / Plumbing Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Education:
Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)
Experience:
Electrical wiring mechanical assembly and plumbing: 1 year (preferred)
