Job Summary
SAE Institute is looking for a passionate and qualified 3D animation lecturer to teach and inspire young minds at our Pretoria campus.
Responsibilities:
Facilitation in accordance with the learning outcomes as set for the SAE Animation programme with a focus on practical application theoretical frameworks workflow and technique.
Mentor students conduct consultations and facilitate learning opportunities.
Research relevant content in order to develop learning material and lesson plans.
Evaluation moderation invigilation and assessment of learning.
Keep accurate records of evidence (e.g. attendance assessment results).
Possess outstanding communication interpersonal skills administration skills be highly organized and possess good time management skills.
Collaborative and willing to work with fellow lecturers and the HOD to support students.
Requirements
Minimum NQF Level 8 qualification (BA Honours) in relevant field
Experience in the field of 3D animation of a minimum of 2 years.
Classroom management and workshop facilitation skills: A minimum of 2 years recent experience in an academic or training environment preferred.
Must be knowledgeable about 3D animation principles workflows and processes (modelling texturing layout lighting rendering basic rigging)
Demonstrate knowledge and experience in 3D software package Maya optionally Blender.
Must have a body of work that demonstrates competency in 3D animation.
Advantageous:
Motion Graphics and/or VFX (After Effects)
2D Cut-Out (Toon Boom Harmony)

Required Education:
Experience Education and Competency: Minimum NQF Level 8 qualification (BAHonours) A Masters Degree is preferable. A PGCHE is advantageous. The successful candidate must show evidence of good subject- and discipline-relatedskills and be able to facilitate the range of learning required within the subject of 2Danimation. Substantial experience in the field of Animation. (Min. 3 years). Facilitation of learning experience (Advantageous) Proficient with industry-standard equipment
