The Alumni Medical Library located on the Boston University Medical Campus in Bostons South End is recruiting a collaborative customer-service oriented professional to serve as our new Evening Services Coordinator. Reporting to the Assistant Director this position leads a small team of student assistants in supporting evening and weekend shifts and the day-to-day activities of the this key user services role this position interacts and communicates positively and effectively with students staff faculty co-workers supervisor and student addition to supervising student assistants this position provides front-line information support to library users via the front desk phone email and ticketing system. This position engages in collection maintenance activities and manages print and electronic course reserves. The work schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday 12:30pm-9:00pm and Sunday 10am-6:00pm. The schedule shifts to Sunday to Monday 10am-6pm in June and July.
Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree and two to three years of experience in library services office support or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience can come from paid volunteer or internship experience. Some supervisory experience preferred but not required. The successful candidate should feel comfortable working in a collegial team and after initial onboarding independently with limited supervision.
