Senior Power BI & Databricks Data Engineer (Azure)

What is in it for you:
Salaried: $80-85 per hour.
Incorporated Business Rate: $90-100 per hour.
6-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
In-office presence required from Tuesday to Thursday.
Remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities:
Lead the migration of legacy SSRS (Paginated Reports) to modern Power BI dashboards.
Design and develop scalable Power BI solutions using DAX and Power Query.
Optimize reports for performance and large dataset export capabilities.
Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
Transform and query data to support migration lifecycles and performance optimization.
Implement DirectQuery composite models and aggregations to manage large data volumes.
Support the modernization of SSAS models into Microsoft Fabric Semantic Models.
Contribute to the adoption and integration of MS Fabric components such as OneLake and Data Engineering tools.
Set up CI/CD deployment pipelines for Power BI and Fabric artifacts.
Ensure data governance practices are upheld including row-level security and data lineage tracking.
What you will need to succeed:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Data Analytics or related fields required.
5 years of Business Intelligence and data engineering experience.
Proven experience in modernizing legacy data platforms.
Demonstrated experience in migrating from on-premise SQL Server ecosystems (SSRS/SSAS) to cloud-native solutions.
Expert-level proficiency in Power BI development (DAX Power Query).
Experience migrating SSRS reports to Power BI.
Ability to optimize Power BI reports for performance and efficient large dataset exports.
Strong experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks for ETL development.
Proficiency in data querying and transformation during migration projects.
Experience implementing DirectQuery composite models and aggregations in Power BI.
Solid understanding of SSAS to Microsoft Fabric migration.
Hands-on knowledge of MS Fabric including Semantic Models OneLake and Data Engineering.
Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines for Power BI and Fabric.
Understanding of data governance RLS and data lineage best practices.
