Description of Responsibilities:
Applies basic engineering fundamentals to perform engineering assignments while working under the direct supervision of an experienced Instrumentation Professional.
Assists in the design and development of Mechanical Engineering packages
Assists in the preparation of mechanical equipment specifications data sheets purchase requisitions and technical bid evaluations for rotating equipment pressure vessels heat exchangers piping items and other mechanical equipment / materials as required
Assists in the design and development of field instrumentation and control systems
Assists in the preparation of instrument equipment specifications data sheets purchase requisitions and technical bid evaluations for field instruments control valves flow meters PLCs SCADA systems and other instrument equipment / materials as required
Assists in the development of an instrument index cause and effect charts instrument location plans loop drawings wiring diagrams and other ladder diagrams.
Assists in the sizing and selection of control valves and pressure safety valves (PSVs)
Reviews vendor documents
Interfaces with instrument designers and liaise with other project disciplines
Participates in factory acceptance testing and/or site visits
Begin performing tasks using industry standards and other standard procedures and tools
Defining Success:
At the end of the internship the intern will begin to gain experience and technical knowledge required to perform the duties of an InstrumentationEngineer in the Engineering consulting business.

Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
Qualifications / Education requirements specific to this role:
Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to Instrument Engineering Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Excellent oral and written communication skills is required
High level of commitment to safety
Highly motivated and positive attitude
Advanced MS Office skills (Word Excel PowerPoint) preferred
Ability to use vendor software when sizing valves is preferred
BSc MSc or equivalent in electrical / chemical engineering/mechanical engineering is required
0 - 4 years of experience
NCEES Engineering-in-Training preferred
