Job Description:
A Steel Manufacturing Supervisoroversees daily production leading teams to meet targets while ensuring quality safety (OSHA/ISO) and efficiency by managing workforce allocating tasks monitoring machinery maintaining records resolving issues and coordinating with maintenance/quality teams requiring leadership mechanical/production knowledge and strong problem-solving skills for processes like rolling fabrication or erection.
- Production Management: Plan organize and schedule daily shift activities to meet production goals.
- Team Leadership: Supervise train mentor and motivate production staff; allocate work and monitor performance.
- Quality Control: Ensure adherence to quality standards inspect work and collaborate with quality teams to resolve issues.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict safety rules (OSHA) and company policies ensuring a safe working environment.
- Operational Efficiency: Monitor machinery minimize downtime identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate production records shift reports and attendance logs.
- Coordination: Liaise with maintenance quality project management and other departments.
- Assigning tasks and setting priorities for the crew.
- Monitoring equipment and production processes.
- Troubleshooting production problems and resolving conflicts.
- Performing administrative tasks and generating reports.
- Ensuring compliance with technical drawings and specifications (for fabrication/erection roles).
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Production Metallurgy or related field.
- Experience: Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing or steel is often required.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of steel production/fabrication processes machinery ERP/MS Office.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership communication problem-solving attention to detail and adaptability.
