POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Analyst InvestmentValuationandAccounting isresponsible for thefair valueof theBDCCapitalinvestmentportfoliofor the purpose of financial reporting for both the direct and indirect portfolio. Additionally support fortheaccounting and financial reporting oftheinvestment group including direct investments and various partnerships/funds ensuring that all financial reporting is in accordance withIFRS.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Lead quarterly indirect valuation process
Prepare direct valuations
Review and when necessary challenge Fair Value recommendations
Support indirect/funds valuation every quarter.
Support and backup Monthly Quarterly and Annual Financial Reporting
Support calculation for Long Term Incentive Plans
Value-add SpecialProjectsfor BDC Capital
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelors degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance)
Professional valuation designation (CBV)
Other professional designations an asset (CPA CFA)
Minimum 2years experienceinvaluation
Minimum 3 years experience in accounting and/or financial audit
Strong financial accounting and analytical skills
Strong knowledge of MS Excel
Experience valuing investments in Venture Capital and Private Equity backed companies.
Strong ability to learn and implement policies and procedures.
Strong ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines.
Ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
Initiative & creativity
Strong teamwork skills and ability to foster relationships with internal customers.
Bilingual in English and French
