Job Summary

This position is contingent on contract award.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services Inc. and provide services outlined below: 

Provide diagnostic radiography services to Veterans under the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Performance Work Statement. Produce highquality radiographic images practice radiation safety complete required documentation follow infectioncontrol requirements and support afterhours/oncall coverage when scheduled.

 

Key Responsibilities

Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and set up the Xray room with sterile supplies contrast materials catheters and required equipment; verify appointments and explain procedures.

Practice safe patient handling and provide courteous customer service.

Perform diagnostic Xray examinations; select proper exposure/ionizing factors; position patients; assess image clarity and repeat exams when necessary.

Perform portable radiography throughout the medical centers as requested.

Check equipment before use; report issues to the radiologist and/or technical supervisor.

Protect patients self and staff from radiation hazards; comply with badge/film and facility radiationsafety policies.

Comply with infectioncontrol requirements (see Section C: Health & Immunizations).

Complete VA Talent Management System (TMS) privacy Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and informationsecurity courses and any additional VArequired training.

Maintain complete exam records/logs; correctly identify images; manage Hospital Information SystemRadiology Information System (HISRIS) / Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) worklists (noting transition to Cerner when applicable).

Ensure all Electronic Health Record (EHR) entries are signed off before leaving the facility.

Follow VA recordsmanagement and informationsecurity obligations including handling of VA information per policy.

Follow afterhours Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS) policies; document escalations; serve on the oncall team for emergencies when scheduled.

Report unusual events during the tour; maintain examroom cleanliness; restock supplies; notify supervision regarding coverage/absences; remain on duty until properly relieved.

Completes required organizational compliance education including assigned requirements that are client-specified for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications :

Job Profile

Basic Requirements/Certifications:

Two years experience in the operation of diagnostic radiology equipment under the direction of a Radiologist or other medical officer to produce radiographic studies/images used in medical diagnosis and treatment.

Must have worked within a hospital lab setting as an X-Ray Tech in the last six months.

Technologists must be currently certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

Education Required:

Successful completion of an accredited educational training program in which technologists are certified as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and must be certified for their specialty.

Physical Requirements:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.

May require bending stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:

Must be able to read write and speak English to effectively communicate.

US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.

Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data.
