The Tool and Die Millwright will operate machine tools and use tool and dies to build fixtures and repair machines. Competitive wages based on experience. Additional Paid Relief Days$1000 SIGN ON BONUS this position is eligible for other incentives.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operates manual lathes mills drills and fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
- Understands and works with precision tolerances where required.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
- Selects the appropriate cutting tools attachments accessories and materials to be used on machines.
- Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
- Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs repairs within expertise.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area.
- Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to operate various types of manual machine tools to perform machining.
- Ability to read blueprints and plans.
- Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.
- Working understanding of geometry trigonometry and algebra.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
- Must be capable of lifting and handling 50 lbs
- Prolonged periods of standing and bending required
- Will be exposed to seasonal temperature changes
- Manufacturing environment with heat noise dust and vibration
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational/technical school training and apprenticeship required.
- Tool and die machinist certification preferred.
- Welding skills a plus.
