Job Summary
If firewalls zero-trust and threat hunting gets your heart racing then this one is for you. Our client is looking for a Senior Information Security Engineer to help strengthen and evolve their security landscape across on-prem cloud and SaaS environments.
Design and implement advanced security controls across on-pre Azure and Microsoft 365
Configure manage and optimize enterprise firewalls and Web Application Firewalls
Own and optimise key security tools: Firewalls Web Servers SIEM EDR DLP and vulnerability platforms
Work closely with outsourced SOC teams managing SLAs and performance metrics
Lead major security incidents forensic investigations and root cause analysis
Drive proactive threat hunting and advanced analytics initiatives
Architect enterprise identity governance using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure ID)
Implement privileged access management and zero-trust principles
Ensure alignment with ISO 27001 NIST CSF CIS benchmarks POPIA GDPR and FSCA requirements
Lead technical audits penetration tests and red/blue team exercises
Deliver security metrics dashboards and board-level presentations
Produced detailed firewall and WAF configuration and performance reports
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 7 years in cyber security or security engineering (minimum 3 years in a senior/lead role)
Expert knowledge of SIEM EDR firewalls DLP and vulnerability management platforms
Hands on experience with firewall configuration WAF deployment security reporting
Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell and Python)
Proven leadership in incident response and security architecture projects
Qualification:
Diploma or Bachelors Degree in IT Computer Science or related field
CISSP CISM or equivalent senior level certification
Microsoft Certified: Cyber Security Architect Expert or SC-Series certifications
