Job Summary

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Establish key performance indicators and mechanisms to assess effectiveness and efficiency of the IT organization initiatives.

  • Oversee IT budgeting and cost estimation approaches resources allocation and cost optimization efforts.

  • Contribute to and oversee the investment strategy for digital and technology initiatives

  • Work with senior business unit leaders to develop project and program resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and day-to-day operational activities while influencing sourcing strategies and ensuring effective management of vendors and sourcing relationships.

  • Fostering a culture of learning and development in the organization by managing a team of OCIO staff.

  • Managing efficient communication channels within and outside of IT functions including town halls IT leadership meetings and preparation of materials for Board of Directors.

  • Demonstrate a passion for complex problem solving for focus on efficiency eliminating friction and contributing innovative ideas to results-centric organization.

  • Develop IT performance metrics and oversees monthly reviews with IT leadership team.

  • Contribute to a high performing and results-focused culture through data-driven decision making.

  • Work with business unit leaders to develop project and program resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and day-to-day operational activities.

  • Ensure continuous alignment of project and technology investment and initiatives with business strategy based on changing functional needs resource capacity constraints risk exposure and Interdependencies; includes taking responsibility for special projects and other initiatives on behalf of the Chief Information Officer (CIO).

  • Oversee the project portfolio and annual planning processes including monthly project budget review and monthly project status reviews

  • Lead the PMO (Project Management Organization) including creating progressions plans for project management functions

  • Oversee and manage the IT department budgets

  • Influence sourcing strategy and ensure effective management of vendors and sourcing relationships.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including business leaders and department heads to understand their requirements and ensure that Fortreas technical capabilities align with their needs and support business objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical operations security application and operations to ensure seamless integration of strategic data and integration solutions

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in IT project/portfolio management and people leadership is required.

  • A minimum of 3 years of executive-level experience is preferred.

  • Bachelors degree in information systems engineering management business administration or a similar area required.

  • Masters or other advanced degrees in the aforementioned fields preferred.

  • Experience driving successful change across a large complex business.

  • Strong understanding of IT strategy enterprise architecture and emerging technologies

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to perceive organize and assimilate information to emphasize a logical rational approach to sorting information and discovering creative solutions. Technical aptitude requirements management and the ability to assess and articulate risk variables.

  • Proven executive and management presence with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Collaborative with the ability to shift from big picture strategic thinking to tactical implementation.

  • An individual who has a bias towards action and instills accountability delivers tough messages and leads change while setting high standards; hands-on positive and energetic; rolls up sleeves and brings a sense of ownership accountability and a strong passion for accomplishing the task at hand.

  • An individual who displays seasoned judgement and thoughtfulness who can build rapport and trust quickly across all departments; creates alignment from disparate senior stakeholders to commit to key talent initiatives

  • Business judgement experience building business and operational plans ability to determine financial and operational impacts.

  • Influence/ facilitation skills ability to comfortably prepare and lead events/ workshops containing 20 diverse participants (internal and external) including strong written verbal and presentation communication skills

  • Strong communicator with demonstrated collaboration analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve business goals while balancing business and technology objectives.

  • Deep clinical trials and laboratory expertise and knowledge of how clinical development business units work together.

  • Experience liaising with regulator frameworks to influence policy and adoption of solutions and technologies.

  • High energy outside of the box thinker with a strong understanding of the services and products development lifecycles.

  • Highly entrepreneurial with a can-do attitude always finding a way to deliver on business priorities.

  • Prior success in supporting large enterprise business that deliver services product and outcomes worldwide.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess recruit develop talent and manage a high-performance team(s) with matrixed organization.

  • Strong operational and management skills with a track record of consistently meeting project deadlines budgets and delivering results.

Experience (Minimum Required):

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in IT and people management is required.

  • Bachelors degree in information systems engineering management business administration or a similar area required.

  • English speaking / reading is required
