About the Role:
The Survey Manager also known as Surveying Manager or Geomatics Manager leads and oversees all aspects of a surveying and geomatics operation including field crews and office-based technical staff. This role is responsible for managing land surveying projects for public and private sector land development infrastructure and improvement initiatives. The Survey Manager drives project execution client relationships business development and financial performance while ensuring technical quality regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:

Lead plan organize and supervise multiple survey field crews technicians and office staff supporting land surveying and geomatics projects.

Manage surveying projects from initiation through completion including scope development scheduling resource allocation and delivery timelines.

Administer contracts and oversee project management activities including interpreting requirements coordinating assignments and resolving technical challenges.
-
Initiate and maintain strong relationships with clients stakeholders public officials and industry partners to support ongoing and future work.
-
Develop and implement strategic plans to drive revenue growth expand market presence and support business development objectives.

Lead client pursuit efforts including identifying opportunities developing pursuit strategies and supporting marketing initiatives.

Prepare review and approve proposals cost estimates and project scopes for potential surveying and geomatics projects.

Plan and develop complex surveying projects involving unique sensitive or controversial technical or regulatory issues.

Oversee preparation review and quality control of survey deliverables including plats legal descriptions and geospatial data.

Review and approve monthly billing financial statements and project performance metrics to ensure profitability and compliance.

Review and approve employee timesheets and support staff performance management and development.
-
Ensure compliance with professional standards safety requirements and applicable local state and federal regulations.

Perform additional leadership and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Active licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor required.
-
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in surveying management preferably supporting residential and commercial land development projects.

Proven experience managing survey teams budgets schedules and multi-project workloads.
-
Strong technical expertise in survey computations boundary analysis and plat preparation using Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
-
Hands-on field experience with Trimble survey equipment GPS and data collection technologies.
-
Proficiency in survey data management using Trimble or Android-based field devices.
-
Solid working knowledge of GPS methodologies geospatial data processing and quality assurance practices.

Strong organizational leadership and self-motivational skills with the ability to manage priorities independently.

Ability to pass required drug screening background checks and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Desired Qualifications:

Experience supporting both public sector and private sector land surveying projects.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Microsoft Access and Google Earth for data analysis and project support.
