VACANCY: Cargo Controller

REPORTING: Rotor Wing Chief Pilot

LOCATION: Western Africa Burkina Faso

Our Client Starlite Aviation has a requirement for a strong and experienced Cargo Controller To support safe and efficient helicopter operations by assisting with cabin preparation passenger and freight handling and in-flight safety and communication.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Flight & Cabin Operations

Prepare and configure aircraft and cabin.
Ensure cleanliness and readiness of seats safety and emergency equipment.

Passenger Handling

Allocate seating and conduct safety briefings.
Monitor passengers and ensure safe boarding/disembarkation.

Freight Handling

Oversee loading/unloading and ensure cargo safety and compliance.

Communication & Safety

Maintain communication with pilots and report issues.
Support safety monitoring during ground and flight operations.

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Ability and Attention to Detail.
Customer Service and Communication Decision Making skills in a corporate vs people environment.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Aviation Knowledge Presentable with professional mannerisms.
Problem-solving and Decision Making.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

The following is essential for this position:

PPL or equivalent understanding of aircraft mass & balance.
Grade 12 / High School certificate (minimum).
Previous experience in aviation operations cabin operations ground handling or logistics preferred.
Basic understanding of helicopter operations and safety procedures.
Dangerous Goods awareness training (preferred or willingness to obtain).
Physically fit and able to handle freight and equipment.
Willingness to work in remote locations and irregular hours.
Safety-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
