SHHC is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our Population Health team. The MA will play a key role in supporting quality initiatives patient outreach care coordination and clinical operations. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments pre-visit planning participating in huddles managing patient care gaps and collaborating with the care team to ensure high-quality services. This position reports to both Squirrel Hill and Brentwood office locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule follow-up appointments immunizations and in-house testing.
- Conduct pre-visit planning and identify gaps in care.
- Participate in daily huddles and share key patient data.
- Outreach patients for preventive screenings and track progress.
- Manage inbox tasks relay lab results and address patient inquiries.
- Collaborate with providers RNs and other SHHC teams to support care plans.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant (certification preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- CPR certification required.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- Commitment to SHHCs mission
- All recommended CDC vaccines required including the annual flu vaccine

- Strong critical thinking communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage complex patient situations and work effectively with diverse populations.
