We are a small family-oriented business and are seeking a provider who has obtained a training license in Wisconsin (or eligible for credentialing in Wisconsin) and who shares the same mission and wants to be a part of our family.


For the past 21 years Stein Counseling has been providing outpatient services to clients of all ages with a wide range of addition to outpatient counseling we offer peer specialists school-based counseling Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) and parent education. When you join the Stein Counseling family you will belong to a group of professionals who are inclusive hard working and caring.


We are looking for someone who is fully licensed in Wisconsin to join our team. As part of the team you will work with individuals and groups to promote optimal mental health. This includes but is not limited to performing admission screenings and mental health assessments developing treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge guiding clients in the development of skills and strategies for coping with their problems ensuring proper coordination of care for clients following all state and Stein requirements for confidentiality and maintaining thorough records of patient meetings and progress.


Stein Counseling is nestled in the bluffs of the Coulee Region. Nearby La Crosse is located on the Mississippi River which offers an abundance of water sports such as swimming boating and water skiing. Our location between the bluffs also creates opportunities for hiking and biking. For the less athletic the area boasts shopping the arts and culture. Whatever the season there is something for everyone.

OUTPATIENT TEAM VISION STATEMENT:

Providing a safe and supportive space to heal and grow through evidence-based and holistic approaches.


JOB PURPOSE:

Provide counseling services to both voluntary and involuntary clients. Work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health. May work with individuals couples and/or families in the areas of: parenting; marital problems; mood management; trauma; stress management; problems with self-esteem; issues associated with aging and mental and emotional health; at-risk behaviors; as well as developmental/cognitive issues.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Maintain confidentiality of treatment records relating to clients treatment as stated in Wisconsin State Statutes Administrative Code Chapter DHS 92
  • Be a Member and Follow the Code of Ethics refer to 2014 Code of Ethics by the American Counseling Association (ACA) at .
  • Encourage clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
  • Collect information about clients through interviews observation and psychological tests and materials as appropriate (DSM5 behavioral checklist and biopsychosocial questionnaire).
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports complete every ninety (90) days or every thirty (30) days if the client is being seen twice a week.
  • Follow Stein Counseling Policies and Procedures regarding billing services for in home counseling outpatient counseling services Inclusa WRIC CCS Wisconsin Medicaid and Medicaid HMOs.
  • Follow Stein Counseling Policies and Procedures regarding assessments casenotes/progress notes and discharges
  • Complete all case notes/progress notes by 1:00 p.m. the next business day.
  • Follow Stein Counseling Policies and Procedures regarding client suspensions and staff appropriately with the collaboration team.
  • Complete timesheet in a timely manner by deadlines of 8:00 a.m. every Monday and on the 15th and last day of the month for supervisor review and payroll preparation.
  • All WRIC CCS billing is due next business day by 1:00 p.m. If it is the last day of month due at end of shift.
  • Complete client satisfaction surveys minimum requirement is twenty four (24) per calendar year
  • Maintain expected minimum client contact hours each week (minimum 70% client contact hours)
  • Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
  • Refer clients or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
  • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients status.
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding dealing with and supporting the client or clients.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions and clients progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
  • Meet with families social workers and other interested parties to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
  • Learn about new developments in the field by reading professional literature attending courses and seminars and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
  • Working knowledge of information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
  • Maintain awareness of behavioral crisis-management techniques and personal safety as well as physical skills necessary relative to frequent travel/driving.
  • Understand and follow policies and procedures of the in home counseling and outpatient behavioral health counseling department and Stein Counseling and Consulting Services Ltd. as outlined in the department and agency policy manuals as well as applicable Wisconsin state statutes and administrative code chapters specific to the profession.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled individual and group supervision and ongoing evaluation.
  • Maintain continuing education credits in accordance with State of Wisconsin and licensure guidelines and Stein Counseling and Consulting Services policies.
  • Develop personal and professional goals annually.
  • Maintain acceptable ratings (85% or better) in all areas on performance reviews (job performance supervisor ratings client satisfaction and client satisfaction surveys collateral ratings QAUR etc).
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities consistent with this position description as requested by the Billing Services Team Leader Clinic Administrator Operations Team Leader and/or President of Stein Counseling and Consulting Services Ltd.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

General office setting. This position requires: dealing with resistant and reluctant clientele and an ability to manage conflict; the ability to work without close supervision; the ability to meet strict deadlines as outlined by the State of Wisconsin and agency expectations; and the ability to work with your team office assistant team and billing team and external customers and/or the public.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Masters Degree in Community Counseling Marriage and Family Social Work Psychology or related field. Must be eligible for Licensure as a LPC LMFT LCSW. Ideal candidate will possess 3000 hours of documented mental health experience working with individuals couples families and/or At-Risk Youth. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within the concept of a valid drivers license and reliable transportation with adequate auto liability insurance and a good driving record.


CLINICAL SUPERVISION:

Those working towards fully licensed professional counselor certification will receive regular individual clinical supervision by a LPC or LMFT one hour each month and will participate in regular clinical supervision with their clinical supervisor along with other licensed professionals for two hours weekly.

This position requires a flexible schedule and must be willing to work early evenings.
