Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate experienced and highly motivated SEN Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Acton starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and skilled in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all pupils have access to high-quality learning and are able to thrive academically socially and emotionally.

The school has a strong ethos of inclusion collaboration and high expectations for all pupils. Staff work closely as a team sharing best practice and providing tailored support for children who require additional learning assistance. Senior leadership is approachable and supportive offering guidance mentoring and professional development opportunities. The SEN department is well-resourced allowing teachers to deliver personalised learning experiences effectively.

As an SEN Teacher you will plan deliver and assess differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils. You will work closely with teaching assistants parents and external professionals to implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Supporting pupils academic progress social skills and emotional wellbeing will be central to your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan deliver and assess lessons tailored to pupils individual needs

  • Implement IEPs and monitor progress toward targets

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and staff to ensure inclusive learning

  • Promote independence resilience and positive learning behaviours

  • Support pupils social emotional and communication development

  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour

  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

  • Contribute to staff meetings professional development and whole-school initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have proven experience teaching pupils with SEN in a primary setting

  • Be patient empathetic and adaptable to meet diverse pupil needs

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Be reflective proactive and collaborative

  • Show a clear commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
