We are seeking a dedicated compassionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Gravesend starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs. You will play a key role in ensuring that all pupils have access to the curriculum and are able to achieve their full potential academically socially and emotionally.

The Role
As an SEN Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with special educational needs. You will implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) providing targeted one-to-one or small-group support. You will also work closely with teaching assistants parents and external professionals to ensure pupils receive coordinated and effective support.
Your role will include promoting pupils independence resilience and confidence helping them to thrive in all aspects of school life. Observing recording and reporting pupil progress is an essential part of the role as is fostering positive relationships with colleagues and families.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess lessons tailored to pupils individual needs
Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEND
Collaborate with teaching assistants and staff to ensure inclusive learning
Promote independence resilience and positive learning behaviours
Support pupils social emotional and communication development
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour
Communicate effectively with parents carers and external professionals
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and school initiatives
Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching pupils with SEND in a primary school setting
Be patient empathetic and adaptable to meet diverse pupil needs
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and collaborative
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
