We are seeking a patient compassionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Leicester starting as soon as possible. The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will work alongside class teachers to provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with additional needs. You will assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) providing targeted interventions and supporting classroom management to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers is an essential part of the role.
You will play a key role in promoting pupils independence confidence and resilience helping them thrive in all aspects of school life. Effective communication with teachers parents and external professionals is essential to ensure coordinated and consistent support.
Key Responsibilities
Support teaching and learning for pupils with SEND
Assist in implementing and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils who require additional help
Promote independence confidence and positive learning behaviours
Observe and record pupil progress and report to the class teacher
Work collaboratively with teachers colleagues and external professionals
Support pupils social emotional and communication development
Maintain a safe structured and stimulating classroom environment
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and school initiatives
Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote pupil welfare
