Lunchtime can be the highlight of a childs day the time to chat with friends run around outside and recharge for the afternoon. But it can also be the trickiest part of the school day. Thats where you come in!

MDMS is looking for enthusiastic Midday Meal Supervisors to join our teams in primary schools across Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment interact with children and help make lunchtime a safe positive and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Even though the hours are short your impact will be long-lasting. Youll help children build social skills confidence and good habits while contributing to the smooth running of the school day.

What Youll Do

As a Midday Meal Supervisor your main focus will be supervising pupils during the lunchtime period. Your duties include:

• Monitoring pupils in dining areas classrooms corridors and playgrounds

• Supporting younger pupils or those needing extra help during mealtimes

• Encouraging polite respectful behaviour and good manners

• Making sure pupils with allergies or dietary needs are safe and supported

• Supervising outdoor play and ensuring safe use of equipment

• Promoting inclusive games and activities during break

• Helping to resolve minor disputes between children calmly

• Offering reassurance to children who feel upset or overwhelmed

• Providing basic first aid if necessary (training provided)

• Reporting incidents accidents or safeguarding concerns to school staff

• Following school policies and working closely with lunchtime supervisors and teaching staff

You will be a reliable and friendly presence that children can count on.

Training and Support
