Job Summary

We are seeking a caring enthusiastic and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tonbridge starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and enjoys supporting children during their most formative years helping them develop key skills in communication literacy numeracy and social interaction.

The school has a strong ethos of inclusion collaboration and child-centred learning. Staff work closely together to ensure every child feels safe confident and motivated to learn. Senior leadership is highly supportive providing mentoring guidance and professional development opportunities for staff.


The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning experiences across the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. You will assist with activities continuous provision and targeted interventions helping children develop academically socially and emotionally. You will also observe and assess childrens progress contributing to planning and supporting individual learning goals.

You will support pupils social and emotional development helping them build independence confidence and positive behaviour. Collaboration with colleagues parents and carers is key to providing consistent and effective support for all children.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across the EYFS curriculum

  • Assist with delivering activities continuous provision and targeted interventions

  • Promote early literacy numeracy and communication skills

  • Support childrens social emotional and personal development

  • Observe assess and contribute to tracking childrens progress

  • Work collaboratively with the EYFS team and wider school staff

  • Support children during transitions routines and outdoor learning

  • Maintain a safe stimulating and inclusive classroom environment

  • Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and school initiatives

  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times


Who Were Looking For

  • Have previous experience working with young children in EYFS or Nursery

  • Be nurturing patient and enthusiastic

  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Be proactive flexible and reliable

  • Have a clear understanding of child development and early learning

  • Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
