Our Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join our Prismatic Manufacturing Group in East Aurora NY. This is your opportunity to join a high-impact team where innovation meets precision and your expertise drives the development of cutting-edge aerospace components.
As a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer you ll be at the forefront of both new product development and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. You ll work hands-on with milled parts applying advanced CNC programming and machining knowledge to solve challenges and optimize performance.
As a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer you will:
- Develop and optimize CNC Mill machining processes for both new and legacy components.
- Create detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructions that meet rigorous engineering specifications.
- Define operation sequences tooling gauging and machine requirements for precision part fabrication.
- Troubleshoot shop floor issues including tooling gauging work holding and inspection challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing problems and enhance producibility.
- Create detailed operation sheets and NC programs to produce high-precision machined parts and sub-assemblies.
- Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and recommend design improvements.
- Assist in the creation of machine-ready code and be hands-on in the production environment assisting with program prove-outs and troubleshooting.
- Estimate setup/run times and tooling hours; contribute to cost estimation for new business proposals.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes and equipment.
To be considered for this role here s what you ll need to bring:
- A bachelor s degree in a technical field with 3 years of relevant professional experience or an associate degree with 6 years of relevant professional experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of proven professional experience
- Proficiency in CNC Milling Machining including multi-axis vertical or horizontal machining centers
- Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation
It d be great if you also had:
- A degree in Mechanical Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
- Background in the aerospace industry
- Experience with machine automation integration
- Skills in inspection of machined parts
- Hands-on experience machining stainless steel titanium and aluminum
- Proficiency in CNC Programming using Siemens NX
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
