Job Summary
Job Summary for Respiratory Therapist Position
- Position: Respiratory Therapist
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years with Trauma Level 1 experience
- Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- License: Active RRT SC license required (pending not accepted)
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Patient Population: Adults/Geriatrics
- Work Setting Skills:
- Proficient in Adult Critical Care
- Experience with extubation nasal/oral airway placement suctioning pulmonary hygiene sputum specimen collection
- Tracheostomy care experience
- Medication Administration:
- Skilled in administering various respiratory medications (e.g. albuterol Atrovent combivent flovent inhaled steroids etc.)
- Familiarity with aerosol mask/trach setups Medihaler Metered Dose inhaler
- Experience with hand-held T-piece and trach collar nebulizers
- Oxygen Therapy:
- High flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
- Ventilation Management:
- Experience with BiPAP CPAP
- Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
- Weaning patients from mechanical ventilation
- Charting: Minimum 1 year EPIC experience required
- Floating: May be required to float to other units/campuses within scope of competence
- Schedule Requests: Must be submitted at time of application; subject to facility approval
- Call-Off Policy: Facility can call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Locals Accepted: Yes per facility radius rule
