MUST HAVE CVICU EXPERIENCEUnit Information: CVICU 3rd floor Heart TowerLocation: 3rd floor Heart TowerAddress:509 Biltmore AveFloor:3rdBuilding: E Heart Tower General Information Tell us about the unit 19 bed mixed unit CVICU/CVRU who runs with a 1:2 or 1:1 ratio depending on acuity. Hold over downgraded patients may be 1:3. A unit with highly trained CVICU/CVRU charges nurses who are free to assist you with any issues. We also have an educator who will begin your orientation. 13 dayshift RNS and 11 nightshift RNS with a nurse s aide on all shifts. We provide heart surgery to around 850 hearts per year. Core nurses are trained in critical care heart care recovery and all devices as they progress through their career. An ECMO team nurse run for those who need Also Impellas IABP and LVADS regularly. This is a high acuity friendly unit which loves to give great care. BLS/ACLS Critical Care training 2 years CVICU or CVRU experience. A love for surgical heart care High energy upbeat personalityPreferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. Certification in Critical Care Cardiac Surgery or Recovery Room care List typical procedures performed on unit(s): IABP IMPELLA Hemodynamics Frequent ambulation of patients Pulling Chest TUBES Pulling Pacer wires LVADS care (supported by team) Intubation/Extubation Best personality Fit: High energy friendly nurse who is a life learner and who has critical care cardiac skills or recovery skillsREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: ACLSFloating Area(s): All ICUS and Stepdown Where needed to other units also Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire - navy blue or white scrubs nursing shoes hair off shoulder no fake nails Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines.
