About the Role

As a Platform Engineer within the Data Engineering team you will be responsible for building and operating the cloud infrastructure that underpins large-scale data-intensive systems. This role sits at the core of the platform ensuring that data pipelines applications and services are reliable scalable secure and observable.

You will design and maintain cloud-native infrastructure lead CI/CD and automation initiatives and establish strong DevSecOps foundations across teams. Working closely with Software Engineering Product and Data Science you will enable faster delivery higher system reliability and greater impact across the organization.

What Youll Do

• Design implement and maintain cloud infrastructure powering large-scale data pipelines
• Build and operate CI/CD pipelines supporting multi-environment deployments
• Improve automation observability and reliability across systems
• Ensure scalability security and cost effectiveness of cloud-native platforms
• Collaborate cross-functionally to maximize impact across engineering and data teams

Responsibilities

• Deploy automate and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for consistent multi-environment delivery
• Maintain and optimize Kubernetes clusters with a focus on scalability and cost efficiency
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability reliability and security
• Enhance observability through centralized logging monitoring and alerting frameworks
• Lead networking of services across environments including ingress egress and secure connectivity
• Take ownership of core infrastructure components from concept through production
• Establish and promote consistent DevSecOps practices across teams
• Mentor team members and collaborate with internal stakeholders

Job Requirements

• 5 years of combined experience in DevOps Platform Engineering or related roles
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures
• High proficiency with Kubernetes and containerized workloads
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks
• Strong experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD GitHub Actions Jenkins)
• Proven experience implementing centralized logging monitoring and alerting solutions (Grafana DataDog CloudWatch Prometheus)
• Solid understanding of industry-standard DevSecOps principles
• Highly self-motivated eager to learn and able to solve complex problems creatively
• Strong team player with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive execution

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in the Earth Observation sector
• Understanding of MLOps best practices for monitoring versioning and maintaining models in production
