Duration: 1-year base contract with up to four (4) option years
Shift Schedule: 8- 9- or 10-hour shifts (4 5 days/week) including rotating weekends and federal holidays. On-call overtime and callback coverage may be required as needed.
How many shifts needed per month: Approximately full-time coverage (1.0 FTE 2080 hours/year per technologist)
Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks
License:
ARRT Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (MRI specialty)
Certifications:
- ARRT (MRI)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
Experience needed:
- Minimum 2 years MRI experience
- Must have worked as an MRI Tech in a hospital setting within the last 6 months
Special Skills needed:
- Advanced MRI protocols (head neck spine abdomen chest extremities)
- Operation of superconductive MRI systems
- Strong patient safety and MRI safety practices
- VA systems familiarity preferred (DHCP / RIS / PACS)
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex MRI examinations per radiologist protocols
- Verify patient identity and pregnancy status
- Prepare position and monitor patients during scans
- Maintain imaging quality and documentation in VA systems
- Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency imaging
- Adhere to infection control radiation safety and VA policies
- Coordinate with radiologists chief technologists and clinical staff
Misc:
- Must commit to a minimum of 6 months
