Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to adult patients in an acute care setting. This role requires flexibility to work varied shifts and float to other units as needed while delivering safe patient-centered nursing care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide medical-surgical level nursing care to patients ages 18 and older.

• Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and hospital protocols.

• Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the care team.

• Utilize clinical equipment including EMR systems medication dispensing systems wound vacs and chest tubes.

• Float to surgical/pediatric or transitional care units as required.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

• Adhere to professional nursing standards hospital policies and patient safety guidelines.

Shift & Schedule:

• Day or night shifts (to be determined)

• Variable shift lengths and schedules; flexibility required

• Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation

• No guarantee of hours or shift preference

• Holiday coverage required

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical or higher-acuity nursing experience.

• Ability to adapt to changing unit needs and patient acuity.

• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active State of Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment.

• BLS required

• ACLS preferred

Unit Information:

• Medical Unit: 50 beds

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5

Dress Code:

• Professional nursing attire

• Closed-toe shoes required

• No specific scrub color restrictions

Training & Orientation:

• Department-specific orientation provided during the first week

Additional Requirements:

• Must be available to complete employee health requirements prior to assignment start.

• No holiday time-off requests accepted.
