Job Summary

Job Summary (Pharmacist Manager Inpatient Pharmacy):

- Ensure safe appropriate and cost-effective medication therapy for patients per established policies procedures and protocols.
- Develop implement and enforce pharmacy policies and procedures promoting safe and cost-effective medication use.
- Maintain and oversee a medical staff-approved formulary.
- Supervise all medication storage and preparation areas throughout the facility.
- Ensure adequate medication supply and integrity including procurement specifications.
- Maintain strict control and accountability for all medications dispensed or distributed including controlled substances.
- Oversee and document the control of controlled substances.
- Ensure all required competency records and licensure are maintained and up-to-date.
- Assume staff pharmacist duties as needed.
- Supervise evaluate and counsel all pharmacy personnel.
- Develop job descriptions performance standards and work schedules; monitor workload and maintain appropriate staffing.
- Oversee and provide for staff education and training needs.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies as well as federal state and local regulations.
- Integrate pharmacy services into organizational goals and strategic plans.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement pharmacy services.
- Develop and maintain quality improvement programs for pharmacy services.
- Participate in hospital committees/functions as required.
- Maintain current pharmacy licensure and attend management meetings.
- EPIC experience is required; Meditech experience is a plus.
- Must be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (PharmD REQUIRED).
- Current Colorado Pharmacy license in good standing required.
- Demonstrated leadership in pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy services.
- Strong regulatory knowledge clinical judgment communication and teaching skills.
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required.
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions; Oct 1 April 1).
- Day shift 40 hours per week.
