Job Summary Surgical Tech (Vail Health Vail CO)

- Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field and providing necessary instruments to the surgical team.
- Possess expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques combining knowledge of anatomy surgical procedures and instruments.
- Check and maintain integrity of all sterile supplies and equipment; ensure operating room safety and proper equipment function.
- Monitor sterile field for contamination and take corrective action as needed under supervision.
- Achieve competency with Tier 1 surgical cases.
- Maintain flexibility and contribute to individualized patient care within scope of practice.
- Communicate effectively with the perioperative team; participate in Time Out Process briefings and debriefings.
- Assist with patient transports room turnovers and operating room preparation.
- Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization after procedures.
- Demonstrate professionalism by staying updated on new technologies instrumentation and procedures.
- Adhere to Just Culture principles and maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
