VKS /Virtual Kubernetes Services Architect

• Specialist in container orchestration.
• Focus: Virtual Kubernetes Services (VKS) container image security and persistent storage for stateful sets.
• Key Task: Designing the Grid cluster and Workload domain to ensure the platform can seamlessly transition from VMs to containers.
• Overall approach -deliver a comprehensive assessment design and documentation effort for a high-performance virtualized environment with future container (VKS) readiness.

1. Infrastructure Assessment & Baseline

• Assess current bare-metal infrastructure including CPU memory storage IOPS and network utilization.
• Validate performance SLAs (latency throughput IOPS) and establish a performance baseline.
• Identify infrastructure constraints dependencies security and compliance requirements.

2. VCF Virtualization Platform Design

• Design high-performance compute architecture (NUMA alignment CPU pinning memory reservations).
• Design high-speed virtual networking and optimized vSwitch configurations.
• Design high-performance storage integration aligned with workload requirements.

3. VM Optimization & Operations

• Define optimal VM sizing and placement strategies.
• Design performance monitoring and operational best practices.
• Establish workload management and operational governance for the virtual environment.

4. Future Containerization & VKS Readiness

• Define container image strategy security scanning and persistent storage integration.
• Design GRID clusters and workload domains for future Kubernetes (VKS) deployment.
• Plan network policies service mesh logging monitoring and capacity growth.
• Architect GPU/vGPU integration for HPC workloads where applicable.
• Define benchmarking stress testing and cost management (chargeback/showback) models.
• Evaluate orchestration and automation for workload balancing and migration.

5. Documentation & Governance

• Produce a comprehensive Architectural Design Document (ADD).
• Document configurations standards and best practices.
• Conduct technical reviews stakeholder presentations and incorporate feedback to final approval.
