Technician III – Construction Inspector (OSP, Fiber)

This is a long-term highly visible opportunity for candidates with strong OSP fiber or construction inspection experience who are comfortable working independently in the field.

Collect track and report daily vendor production activities for OSP fiber construction projects
Review project drawings specifications and prints to fully understand scope and requirements
Inspect fiber optic plant construction to ensure compliance with customer standards and manufacturer SRPs
Visit job sites daily to evaluate progress address issues and respond to questions from project managers or customers
Direct contractor activities in the field as needed to maintain schedule safety and quality
Enter daily production inspection results and documentation into the Sitetracker mobile system
Perform quality inspections on active and completed work using established checklists and documentation standards
Support tracking and reporting of material inventory consumption
Enforce and comply with all safety rules and governing authority requirements
Understand and apply local construction methods and procedures
Perform other related duties as assigned

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Valid U.S. Drivers License with a clean driving record
Ability to read and interpret FTTX / fiber construction prints
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook)
Ability to work independently self-direct and manage field responsibilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to work outside standard business hours when project demands require
Fluent in English
Must live within approximately one hour of Scranton / Wilkes-Barre

Combination of outdoor field work and indoor office environments
Frequent walking (up to 5 miles/day) standing driving and site navigation
Exposure to all weather conditions (heat rain snow cold)
Exposure to construction site noise and activity
PPE required on job sites (safety glasses gloves hearing protection hard hat safety vest; steel-toe boots required-client provides all PPE except boots)
