Job Description & Skill Requirement:

Summary:
Provide design and integration support for vehicle electrical electro-mechanical and control systems development. The successful candidate will provide necessary design recommendations for electro mechanical and electrical systems wiring hardware and make software recommendations. The candidate should be able to execute a vehicle control system project plan.
Job Duties:
Support supervisor suppliers engineering specialists and other departments to execute job assignments performing electrical and electro mechanical systems layouts harness design and routing supporting calculations engineering analysis and material and component selection while ensuring specification compliance.
Provide estimates on assigned task durations to support engineering schedules.
Responsible for quality conscious design including cost weight reliability ease of manufacturing/assembly and service/maintenance.
Work with suppliers as required to ensure proper integration of their products into Jerr Dan designs.
Provide direction and assign tasks to engineering contractors to support project deliverables.
Process engineering information through change notices change proposals and the creation of thorough part print documentation.
Respond to Continuous Improvement Request forms.
Learn and adhere to Oshkosh engineering best practices and standards.
Utilize various state of the art engineering tools and software packages.
Ability to read and develop electrical schematics.
Provide production line support as required.
Provide technical assistance for prototype testing pilot and production builds.
Ensure designs are fully vetted prior to final release.
Potential travel less than 20% of time mostly to local facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering Electro Mechanical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
3 years of applicable industry experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with automotive heavy duty or mobile hydraulic equipment.
Experience with controls design and/or software implementation.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills.
Experience with Creo or similar CAD software.
