Job Title: Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Investigative Analyst
Location: San Jose - hybrid - 95110

Job Overview:
The Data Loss Prevention Investigative Analyst is responsible for monitoring investigating and responding to potential data loss incidents within the organization. This role leverages DLP tools and data security best practices to identify policy violations analyze data movement and recommend corrective actions to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor DLP systems and alerts for anomalous activity or policy violations regarding sensitive data movement or exposure.
Conduct thorough investigations of DLP alerts and incidents by analyzing logs end-user activity and data transfer records.
Collaborate with IT legal compliance HR and business units to gather facts and context surrounding suspected incidents.
Document investigative steps findings and recommendations in a clear timely manner.
Escalate confirmed or high-risk incidents in accordance with incident response procedures.
Support the implementation and tuning of DLP policies rules and classifications to improve detection accuracy and minimize false positives.
Prepare regular reports and metrics on DLP incidents trends and risk areas for management review.
Participate in post-incident reviews to identify root cause and recommend preventative controls.
Stay current on regulatory and industry data protection requirements and best practices.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Information Security Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
2 years experience working with data loss prevention technologies information security or related investigative roles.
Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
Familiarity with DLP platforms (e.g. Symantec DLP Microsoft Purview Forcepoint etc.).
Understanding of data privacy standards and regulations (GDPR CCPA HIPAA etc.).
Experience with incident response and documentation processes.
Excellent communication skills able to interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Professional certifications such as Security CEH or CIPP are a plus.
