Responsibilities

Manage and optimize cloud-based databases and infrastructure hosted on AWS
Monitor database performance and ensure high availability and security
Troubleshoot and resolve database related issues and incidents
Collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and efficient database solutions
Implement and maintain database backup and recovery processes
Perform database tuning and query optimization to enhance performance
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in cloud database management and AWS services

Requirements

Bachelors degree in computer science information technology or a related field
Experience in managing cloud-based databases and infrastructure preferably on AWS
Proficiency in database administration backup and recovery processes
Strong understanding of database security best practices and compliance
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Good communication and collaboration skills
Relevant certifications e.g. AWS Certified Database Specialty are a plus
