Job Summary

The key function and purpose of this role is to

  • Preparation of monthly financial reports with variance analysis
  • Monthly closing of accounts posting of journal entries
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Performing stock costing and maintaining stock listing
  • Maintain Fixed Asset register and ensure annual verification of assets
  • Preparation and lodgement of monthly tax compliances
  • Assist in yearly external audits and company tax including yearly returns
  • Job / voyage reconciliation
  • Reconcile agency costs against agency revenue
  • Extract and analyse PL for any principal related charges posted
  • Reconcile principal related charges and ensure correct recharging
  • Liaise with departments to ensure correct postings are done
  • Carry out analysis for revenue cost and overhead codes
  • Extraction gross profit by client report / by department when requested by department managers
  • Flexibility to attend to finance related issues outside of normal working hours
  • Assist Manager Finance evaluate the finance policies and processes and develop internal controls.
  • Any other work assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications :

Education

  • At a minimum a Diploma / Degree in Accounting and Finance

Experience

  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role

Skills

  • Good knowledge of technical accounting and statutory obligations
  • Excellent knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in the shipping industry is preferred with the ability to read airline/shipping documentation including BOL invoice.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to identify and suggest areas for internal control improvements
  • Self-motivated and capable of handling multiple tasks
  • Ability to work either independently or collaboratively as needed
  • Be a team player
  • Good communication skills
