AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer Intern to join our team to assist our technical team with a variety of field and office assignments with a focus on geotechnical engineering analyses. You will be able to help with subsurface exploration construction oversight calculations report preparation and plan and specification preparation.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Compile and present geotechnical data for project teams.
- Assist with engineering design tasks using geotechnical software.
- Process instrumentation data and perform calculations to support design decisions.
- Support field investigations including borehole drilling instrumentation installation and construction supervision.
- Assist project team during the proposal/bid phase.
- Communicate effectively with others within the team and with internal and external clients.
- Perform work in accordance with projected budget and schedule under supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn how to perform geotechnical site investigation fieldwork engineering field reviews engineering analyses and design calculations for shafts foundations temporary excavation support systems and soil/rock slopes.
- Willingness to learn how to perform seismic hazard evaluations such as liquefaction and lateral spreading analyses.
