AECOMs Saskatoon Water group is seeking highly motivated individuals to support numerous Civil Infrastructure projects throughout Saskatchewan.
The successful candidate will gain experience in a variety of Consulting Engineering duties. Specific duties will vary depending on project demands and individual skills and experience. Project services may be provided individually or as part of a larger project team.
All AECOM employees are required to carry out their duties in a safe and responsible manner. Candidates should expect a variety of experiences ranging from field work to design and engineering of municipal infrastructure.
Common Office Assignments Include:
Support CAD/design members for various civil and water infrastructure projects
Assist in data review creating designs calculations sketches diagrams schematic drawings and final working drawings.
Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Perform work in accordance with an agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Common Field Assignments Include:
Conduct topographic and construction surveying using GPS survey equipment.
Conduct construction supervision and inspections of municipal infrastructure projects.
Measure and track quantities for payment.
Complete calculations to ensure the accuracy of our designs and identify the need for adjustments.
Complete daily construction reports.
Review of project drawings and specifications.
Preparation of safety plans.
Assist with construction contract administration including preparing change orders or reviewing submittals.
Attend client meetings with project manager and prepare notes and action items.
Ensure the projects needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
Work with and maintaining a positive relationship with clients and contractor.
Field work commonly involves travel to remote areas of Northern Saskatchewan shift work and long hours.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Civil Technologies program.
- Candidates must also possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Accuracy with details is essential.
Familiar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and an understanding of CAD standards.
Ability to read and interpret Civil construction drawings.
Experience collecting survey data and performing construction layout surveys using GPS Total Station and/or conventional survey equipment is preferred.
Experience working around mobile heavy equipment and farm implements is considered an asset.
