Job Summary
Primary Function of Position
The Ion endoluminal system is Intuitives new robotic platform for minimally invasive biopsy in
the peripheral lung with an initial goal of improving the early diagnosis of lung cancer. The
Software Engineer (GUI) designs and implements a variety of graphical user interface (GUI)
elements ranging from more traditional 2D GUIs to interactive 3D virtual this
role you will work closely with designers clinical engineers and other software developers to
create world-class user experiences for the Ion platform to positively impact physician experience
and patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is an independent and fast-paced GUI developer with
excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for good software architectures and processes
capable of producing robust high-quality code in the face of rapidly changing requirements.
Essential Job Duties
Work as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced start-up-like business unit
Prototype new GUI elements and workflows and rapidly
iterate to prove concepts or fail quickly
Design and implement high-quality UI features using Qt
QML and C
Contribute to system and software architecture for the Ion platform
Create requirements and formal test protocols for new features
Stay up to date with latest UI development trends and technologies and propose
innovative solutions to enhance our software
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience (Specific skills knowledge and experience that an individual
must possess in order to successfully perform in job)
Proven experience developing user interfaces using Qt/QML
Proven working knowledge of C and object-oriented programming
Familiar with development in a Linux environment
Great communication skills and teamwork
High levels of independence and technical ownership
Required Education and Training
2 years experience with a BS in CS or related fields; MS or higher is a plus

Experience with graphics libraries such as OpenGL or OpenSceneGraph
Experience with parallel programming and Cuda
Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal

Experience working with software development
methodologies and tools (CI version control issue tracking
agile etc.)
Experience working in a regulated software environment such as medical device

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives benefits and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience skills and qualifications.
