Serenity for Life is a compassionate trauma-informed residential treatment center dedicated to supporting women on their recovery journey from primary substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Our integrative and client-centered approach addresses the physical emotional and psychological needs of each individual in a safe and supportive environment. We are a small twelve-bed facility located in the mountains of Colorado in the town of Georgetown.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric evaluations medication management and collaborate with our clinical and medical teams to support women in early recovery. This role plays a vital part in addressing the unique mental health challenges women face in conjunction with substance use disorders.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial psychiatric and medical assessments and ongoing evaluations for clients as needed with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Provide medical and psychotropic medication management including prescribing monitoring and adjusting medications.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team.
- Monitor and manage medical and psychiatric symptoms medication side effects and treatment adherence.
- Collaborate with the medical director therapists nursing staff behavioral health techs and dietitians to ensure continuity of care.
- Document all patient/client encounters evaluations treatment plans and progress notes in accordance with BHA clinical and legal standards. Must be entered into our EHR system.
- Participate in weekly multi-team meetings and case consultations as needed.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA state and federal regulations regarding psychiatric care and prescribing.
- You must be flexible as the schedule will vary.
Qualifications and Preferences:
- Active and unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant license in CO
- DEA registration
- Full prescriptive authority required
- Minimum 2 years experience working with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health diagnoses
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based setting
- Experience with electronic health records preferred
Contract Terms:
- All initial evaluations must be completed within 24 hours of admission and medications will be arranged by the on-call provider within 12 hours of admission.
- In person services must be provided for each client at least once within the clients first 2 weeks after admission.
- Preferably all services will be provided on the same day each week when possible with the exception of initial evaluations.
- All documentation is to be completed within our EHR system within 24 hours of services rendered.
- Competitive hourly compensation paid as an independent contractor.
- Malpractice insurance required
- Must be available an average of ten hours per week for client intakes follow-ups coordination of care and team collaboration
