DescriptionHoneywell Aerospace Technologies Mission Systems is a leading supplier of integrated electronic and RF solutions antennas sensor systems for EW Radar testing safety and other mission-critical applications.
The Mission Systems business is experiencing exciting growth and is looking to add Principal RF Engineer to add to their RF engineering group. The Mission Systems engineering team encompasses over 200 engineering professionals including systems software RF power amplifier antenna mechanical reliability test engineers and other specialties across (6) locations in the Northeast US. This position is to be located in our Woburn MA location with strong collaboration across sites.
As part of our dynamic engineering development team you will lead and support the design development test and production of complex RF/Microwave components and systems. This position requires application of a solid background in RF/Microwave theory creativity and critical thinking skills to develop and analyze circuit designs based on the performance specification schedule cost reliability and manufacturability requirements. System Architectures are to be developed and verified to meet requirements and through models in Microwave Office/ADS HFSS MATLAB or other simulation/analysis tools as well as practical testing.
ResponsibilitiesRoles and Responsibilities:
- Design RF circuits using simulation tools such as: Microwave Office Visual System Simulator HFSS ADS
- Test tune debug and optimize prototype circuits and components to meet specification requirements and manufacturing requirements
- Write and occasionally execute test procedures
- Troubleshoot circuits on test bench and simulation
- Generate technical documentation of design and analysis such as volumes for proposal efforts design and test documentation
- Partner within the organization for scheduling of development projects including process development fixture design and implementation material procurement and customer interface (design reviews)
- Assist Product transition from Engineering to Manufacturing including writing In-process and Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP)
- Provide mentorship to less experienced Engineers
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
QualificationsU.S. Citizen Requirement
- Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.
- Must be eligible for security clearance due to contractual requirements
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in applicable engineering field of study
- Eight (8) years of experience in RF Design with strong understanding of design and analysis for RF parameters: S-parameters Noise Figure Intercept point Compression Spurious and Phase Noise
- Eight (8) years of experience with AWR/ADS/HFSS circuit simulation experience or equivalent
- Or Masters in Engineering and 5+ years of experience in the technical areas stated above
- Practical experience in a lab environment using modern RF test equipment for system and component analysis.
- Strong analytical and test skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills to interface with key internal and external customers
- This position requires access to technology materials software or hardware that is controlled by US export order to be eligible for this position you must be a US Person under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred:
- Bachelors in Engineering and 10+ years of experience
- Masters in Engineering and 8+ years of experience
- Chip and Wire / Hybrid design and production experience is strongly desired.
- High frequency (K-band and above) surface mount design experience and Multi Chip Module experience strongly desired.
- Detailed experience with RF/Microwave design and techniques and development of integrated RF/Microwave assemblies
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing and harsh environmental constraints
- Skilled in integrating filters switches amplifiers limiters and isolators
- Background in aerospace and defense industry
- Active Security Clearance
Pay and Benefits:
- The annual base salary range for this position is <$178000- $245000>. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
