2026 Undergraduate Summer Intern Job Posting

Department Title: Undergrad Intern U.S. Retirement Insurance & College Savings

Anticipated End Date: August 14 2026 All interns must be in office and in person on their last day to return equipment. Interns must be located in the same location throughout the duration of their internship and are prohibited from returning laptop/equipment to a different office location or shipping their equipment back.

Position Summary:

The Franklin Templeton U.S. Retirement Insurance and 529 group is a single business unit covering multiple constituents across the retirement insurance & college savings solutions spectrum. We take a long-term and holistic approach to our client relationships to ensure we are a trusted partner through market and product cycles. It includes the following teams with complimentary coverage:

  • Strategic Accounts: this home office-focused team works with product development and investment research analyst professionals plus distribution leadership at our strategic insurance and recordkeeping partner firms to retain gain and evolve Franklin Templeton product on our clients platforms. Typical product vehicles include mutual funds collective investment trusts variable investment trusts and custom subadvised funds. A flexible approach is taken to meet client needs which can range from off-the-shelf offerings to custom solutions stemming from a partnership between the client and FT product and investment teams.
  • Workplace Solutions: this field sales team includes both external and internal DC sales specialists who target financial professionals consultants and recordkeeping wholesalers who are primarily focused on the retirement plan business. They provide Workplace-centric products tools and resources in an effort to drive adoption and retention of Franklin Templeton custom and off-the-shelf retirement solutions and investments.
  • Insurance Sales Team: this field sales team partners closely with the distribution teams of insurance companies to drive awareness and adoption of Franklin Templeton investments embedded within their insured solutions. They provide distribution support investment expertise and practice management tools to help position Franklin Templeton investments as well as the benefits of insurance products more broadly.
  • College Savings: this team supports both the Franklin Templeton direct to consumer NJBest college savings plan as well as the financial professional-sold Franklin Templeton 529 College Savings Plan through traditional field sales and marketing promotion with a special focus on finding synergies with Franklin Templetons other workplace addition this team will work to identify and capture investment-only opportunities across outside college savings platforms.

This team plays a key role in developing innovative solutions and we have positioned ourselves at the forefront of the shift to personalized wealth management solutions. Additionally this team is responsible for driving home office relationships for the Retirement and Insurance business at Franklin Templeton. Key Responsibilities Can Include:

  • Supporting the business development of current clients
  • Responding or interacting with client to address their needs
  • Conduct research on relevant initiatives and compile reports or visualizations to display your findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with team members to manage ongoing projects and push them to completion
  • Research and preparing presentations / visualizations on research regarding workforce demographics retirement plans retirement data retirement plan/product usage
  • Assist with marketing initiatives including social media planning competitive research on content and data/email analytics

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 37.5 (dependent on state/location) hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $28 (dependent on location and function) USD per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location job-related knowledge skills and experience.
