You will have the opportunity to work at the heart of HSBCs Global Treasury directly supporting the Global Head of IRRBB Reporting and Insights in shaping implementing and tracking the banks Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) risk management strategy. This position offers broad exposure to senior stakeholders across Markets Treasury regional IRRBB teams Finance IT and Investor Relations while driving global reporting providing actionable insights into earnings and value sensitivities and ensuring sustainable success through robust conduct control and regulatory frameworks. In this role youll:
- Developing and Implementing IRRBB Strategy: Support the Global Head of IRRBB Reporting & Insights in shaping and executing HSBCs IRRBB risk management strategy across the global business.
- Delivering Global IRRBB Reporting: Ensure timely consistent and best-practice global reporting of IRRBB providing actionable insights into the drivers of earnings and value sensitivities.
- Providing Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the IRRBB subject matter expert for all global sites advising on best-in-class risk mitigation approaches and supporting the adoption of lessons learned and continual improvement.
- Leading Analysis and Operational Improvements: Conduct proactive ad hoc analysis source new data and develop approaches to better understand IRRBB drivers while working with teams to operationalise and automate recurring analysis.
- Engaging Stakeholders and Ensuring Compliance: Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders represent the business at governance committees and ensure robust conduct control and regulatory compliance in all activities.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Substantial IRRBB Experience: Demonstrable experience within IRRBB with strong knowledge of market best-in-class practice around risk management methodologies governance frameworks and the external regulatory environment.
- Self-Starting Analytical Problem Solver: Proven track record in developing new analysis to understand underlying patterns and recommend management actions using both detailed data analysis as well as high-level rule-of-thumb triangulations to validate your findings.
- Technical Product Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of banking book products and behaviours structural hedging frameworks and associated modelling and metrics such as Net Interest Income (NII) and Economic Value of Equity (EVE) sensitivities ideally supported by relevant qualifications.
- Data Systems and Modelling Expertise: Hands-on experience with systems data and modelling infrastructure that supports IRRBB as well as broader financial planning and analysis.
- Strategic and Operational Leadership: Proven ability to structure and drive large-scale strategy implementation resolve complex issues through leadership and influence and manage transformation activities in a global banking environment.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong track record of engaging challenging and influencing senior management and diverse stakeholders across regions and functions.
