Job Title: Telemetry Technician
Location: New York NY
Schedule: Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $40.00 $44.00 per hour
Position Overview
The Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring and accurate interpretation of ECG rhythms to support patient safety and clinical decision-making. This role requires strong attention to detail rapid recognition of rhythm abnormalities and effective communication with the clinical care team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform continuous ECG monitoring and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
Analyze ECG strips identify abnormal or life-threatening rhythms and immediately notify appropriate clinical staff
Initiate and assist during emergency situations including code responses and rhythm documentation
Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with correct electrode placement in various clinical settings
Monitor troubleshoot and maintain telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment
Respond promptly and appropriately to monitor alarms
Communicate clearly with nursing staff physicians and other members of the healthcare team
Enter verify and manage orders within the electronic system
Retrieve and report laboratory results to the appropriate clinical staff in a timely manner
Ensure documentation meets organizational policies and regulatory standards
Safely operate and manage monitoring and related medical equipment
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication critical-thinking and multitasking skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Education & Certification Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) must be current or obtained within one year
Telemetry Technician Certification required
Completion of a Dysrhythmia Interpretation Course required
