Job Description:
The New York County District Attorneys Office (DANY) has openings for the 2026 Summer High School Internship Program. This rigorous five-week paid internship provides students with an insiders view of the criminal justice system. Participants will engage in workshops and discussions participate in a mock trial program develop professionalism in an office setting and will be paid minimum wage.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Engage in workshops and hands-on experiences to get an inside look into the criminal justice system.
- Complete assigned reading to participate in group discussions.
- Participate in a mock trial and policy proposal project.
- Work in a unit and perform related tasks as assigned.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must reside in Manhattan
- Applicants must be current juniors or seniors in high school.
How to Apply:
- One-page Resume and a 300 word essay discussing your interest in criminal justice.
Hours/Shift:
- Interns must attend the full five-week session from June 29 2026 July 31 2026.
- In-person Monday through Friday from 9:30 am 4:30 pm.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Employment in this title is restricted to students enrolled in and attending high school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a high school student shall be employed for more than 20 hours in any week that school is in may be employed fulltime during their vacation periods.
