Our Barrie Corridor Downtown & Union plus Team is looking to hire a Project Coordinator Capital Project Delivery. Under the supervision of the Manager you will provide on-site support for the delivery of civil works including construction administration activities such as submittals site coordination RFIs work plan reviews and rail corridor access as part of the Project Delivery Team supporting the GO Expansion Program delivered in a safe timely consistent and cost-effective manner.

Start Rate (Non-negotiable): $49.68 per hour
Location Construction sites at various locations in the GTA (Example: 99 Sudbury Street Toronto).

What will I Be Doing

  • Coordinate project-specific requirements during the construction phase in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as the Construction Manager and Technical Advisors.
  • Oversee and coordinate the project activities of the Construction Manager and utility companies to ensure compliance with Metrolinx standards policies and processes.
  • Provide construction oversight and conduct field inspections as required to support project delivery.
  • Provide on-site support for construction activities including participation in site meetings and support during critical activities such as Major Track Closures
  • Coordinate construction activities to minimize customer and operational impacts.
  • Ensure all required internal and external approvals are obtained prior to construction activities.
  • Monitor project progress to support timely completion within established budget and schedule constraints.
  • Support project completion commissioning and handover to the user group.
  • Assist in the preparation of project post-evaluation reports including project cost analysis and lessons learned.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need

  • A college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education training and experience providing a thorough knowledge of the theories and practices of engineering/architecture.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience related to the planning design and construction of transit facilities interpreting and applying contract plans and specifications and co-ordinating contracted engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of the theory principles and practices of civil engineering and architecture.
  • Detailed knowledge of project management including cost control scheduling codes standards specifications corporate procedures and applicable contract legislation.
  • Understanding of Railway Rules and Regulations and Safety & Operating procedures.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work independently and think analytically.
  • Proficiency in the use of project management software and computer applications is essential.
  • Must successfully complete environmental safety and any other training and certification required to stay current on regulations and industry standards and as by corporate policy.
  • A valid Ontario G Drivers Licence is required for regular site visits. A Drivers Abstract (within the last 3 Years) will be required of the successful candidate.
  • Regular site visits are required during working hours and visits during evenings weekends and/or holidays as necessary.
  • This position requires the successful candidate to be present at various designated onsite locations as assigned by their leader for a minimum of three (3) days each week. Additionally as an operational business continuity functional coordinator the candidate should be prepared to make regular visits during evenings weekends and holidays as necessary.
