Position: High School Principal (Gr 9-12)

This position provides the opportunity of working at a WASC accredited international school managing a high school of approximately 250 students working with faculty from diverse backgrounds and overseeing an educational program designed for students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Chiang Mai International School provides a rigorous program for its students and the high school principal is responsible for managing all aspects of the educational program under the supervision of the Head of School. The successful candidate will be working collaboratively in a positive and supportive administrative team with well-qualified professional colleagues.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Education with Administration Certification
- Administration certification from an accredited university/college
- Prior successful teaching experience at the secondary level
- Ability to oversee educational program for HS (including Advanced Placement)
- Minimum 2 years HS administrative experience as a Principal
- Student-centered Flexible and Creative
- Attentive to Social-Emotional Learning needs of students
- Commitment to collaborative planning
- Proficient with educational administrative and communication technology
- Fluent in English with excellent writing skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Education with Administration Certification
- Experience working in a multicultural setting
- Background with curriculum development
- Experience administering a variety of assessments and analyzing/communicating results
- Experience in data analysis and goal setting to inform and improve instructional practices
- Experience with interactive technology
- Good knowledge of multiple related disciplines
- Experience with differentiating and accommodating to meet learning and language need.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Plan implement oversee and evaluation educational program for Gr 9-12
- Create positive engaging and supportive learning environment
- Oversee the design and presentation of effective standards-based instructional units
- Supervise and evaluation teacher performance and effectiveness
- Manage divisional budget with respect to ordering purchasing and utilizing classroom resources
- Develop and provide constructive relationships with students parents teachers staff and administration
- Coordinate the delivery of high-quality student-centered instruction
- Manage the evaluation and assessment of student performance and preparation of professional-level reports based on school reporting schedule
- Oversee the on-going process of curriculum development related to overall educational program
- Develop master schedule assign teachers coordinate cross-over teachers
- Meet all deadlines related to submission of documents information and records
- Plan and implement professional development opportunities for faculty and staff
- Oversee use of assessment data to inform instructional decisions
- Ensure differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Work collaboratively with administrators faculty and staff
- Establish and maintain professional communication with faculty parents students and colleagues
- Report for and perform supervision duties as assigned
- Supervise the organization and supervision of divisional extracurricular activities and sports
- Attend all required scheduled meetings involving faculty staff administration students and parents
- Serve on school-based committees as assigned
- Coordinate school-based field trips (day trips and/or overnight trips) as assigned
- Serve on school-based committees
- Coordinate SAT testing
- Coordinate and monitor along with the Curriculum Director and the Academic Counselor the AP Program.
- Adhere to CMIS child protection policies
- Understand Christian values and demonstrate positive character
- Perform other duties as assigned
